What Gender Parity Looks Like in the New South Sudan
Gender parity is not a buzzword. It is the minimum standard of justice and progress in any modern society.
PRM is determined to end the political, economic, and cultural exclusion of women in South Sudan. We will guarantee 50% representation of women in all public decision-making spaces, backed by law and enforced through action.
We will outlaw all forms of gender-based violence, including child and forced marriage, and ensure the perpetrators are punished. Women will receive support to grow businesses, access land, and get quality maternal healthcare.
We will mainstream gender budgeting across all ministries to ensure women’s needs are reflected in public spending. PRM understands that no nation can develop when half its population is held back.
In the new South Sudan, gender parity is not a favor. It is a constitutional right.
